Yako’s past is shown in bits and pieces to build up suspense. I always thought the comic was flawed when it came to explaining her father’s death. The police rule her father’s death as a suicide but the chainsaw, stakes through the body, blood drenched walls— it’s overkill for suicide, clearly a murder victim.
