		<description>Felt the same way at first but Basilisk is still a kick ass anime even if I don’t agree with the ending. All the characters die to prove a point: fighting is pointless and ugly. Each death killed a lover, a dream, or a family member. Oboro and Gennosuke are the bravest characters. Unlike their grandparents, they choose to believe in each other and instead of running away from their responsibilities, they own it to the bitter end. They give the shogun his heir and break the cycle of hate. Think about it, if Gennosuke lived, Oboro’s clan would never let it go. Besides, I have strong doubts their position would’ve allowed them to walk away without serious repercussions.
